Gottschalk is devoted to estate planning, trust administration, probate, family law, and business formations.  When I started practicing law, I wanted to incorporate my experience as a trust administrator in the banking industry with my knowledge as an attorney.  I take great satisfaction in guiding people towards solutions that help secure their interests for their loved ones.

Experience

From 1968 to 1996, I served in the U.S. Naval Reserves, including Viet Nam service from 1969 to 1970.  I am now a retired Navy Captain. After returning home, I completed my M.B.A in finance at the University of California, Berkeley.  Next, I attended the Hastings College of Law in San Francisco where I completed my J.D. in 1975. 

Entering the banking industry, I was an account administrator and manager in the Crocker National Bank Trust Department.  Later, I served as the statewide manager of the Trust Department for Sumitomo Bank of California.  It was during this time that I learned a great deal of practical knowledge regarding all aspects of trusts and probate matters.

In addition to my law practice, I am a current member of the City Council of Millbrae and am active in the Rotary Club.  My law practice is an important way for me to invest in our community and the people that live in it.  I recognize the value in helping people resolve life’s most important issues.  As an estate planning and family law attorney, my practice is dedicated to providing personalized legal services during some of the most important events in my client’s lives.
